Homicide is the most heinous crime committed against humanity. In a split second lives, families and futures are destroyed. No family expects to be affected but without warning the word Homicide can be the one thing that consumes your entire life. I have been a homicide detective for twelve years and I now command a major Homicide Unit. Over my career I have seen the effects of this senseless evil on hundreds and hundreds of families.
I hope that this blog will help people to understand just what it takes to be a homicide investigator in today’s world and I hope to dispel some misconceptions propagated some of televisions most popular crime dramas. I will detail homicide investigations from beginning to end and provide an insiders view to the real world of homicide investigations. I will also give some insight on how my unit works with reality television to display the hard work done by some of the best detectives in the business.
